Mornings? Heck yeah!

I love mornings! It’s annoying but I get excited to go to sleep to be able to start my morning routine. You know what I probably like more than mornings? Routines! Whoo – adulting! Fricken gross.. but it’s totally true. I love to hear the alarm go off, grab my iPad and check my social media for what has happened while I’ve been asleep. I like to go to bed early because I’m up before 5, so I snuggle in my big bed, read whatever I have downloaded and I’m off to sleep!

Sometimes I’m slow to rise but when I have my ish together and set my coffee up the night before to go off at 5, smell that delicious scent, I don’t mind getting up, throwing on my workout clothes and heading downstairs for my morning workout. Morning workouts are something I started doing about 10 years ago out of career necessity. If it didn’t happen before work, it just was not happening so I got into the habit and now I do it even though I work out at home. I think starting your day off accomplishing something sets yourself up for a more positive day.

Am I tired sometimes? Sure. Does my husband want me to stay in bed and snuggle sometimes? Abso-fricking-lutely! And I do sometimes, but I know checking that off the list in the morning starts my day off right and it’s one simple thing I can do to take care of my physical and emotional health. Trust me honey, I feel a BIG difference emotionally if I skip a couple morning workouts and it is not pretty! My husband has even noticed now so he encourages me to get up and get moving.

I get done working out, grab my first cup of coffee and head to the shower to start getting ready. I also am a freak that gets excited about getting dressed in the morning so while I’m showering, I think about what I’m going to wear and listen to the weather reports to help me out. Then it’s out to do makeup and hair, all the while chitty chatting with my husband about whatever is going on that day… Usually helping him decide what shirt to wear with which pants, etc. He actually has very good taste and not only buying all his own clothes but a lot of mine!

Once I’m done, I grab my lunch (packed usually by my husband) and get in the car. The car consists of various activities but my favorite is Fridays when I get to call Mary to talk crap with her for my 20 minute ride. It’s always funny to laugh about stupid stuff and just start the day with some light hearted banter. Any other day, I’m cranking the tunes and jamming out… singing my heart out, practicing for my next career as a solo artist. πŸ˜‰
